All the teams have big names in their side and the experts say that it will be a thrilling tournament. The tournament is scheduled to start from December 7, 2012 and will end on January 19, 2013.
This year the format has changed a little bit. Unlike last year there won’t be any groups. Each team will have to play 7 matches and after all the matches are played the 4 teams with the highest points will qualify for the semi finals where the first team will play against the fourth team and the second team will play against the third. If the teams are tied on same points after 7 matches then the qualifiers will be selected on the basis of net run rate. Teams will get 2 points each on winning a match and if they lose there will be no points for them. However if any match is abandoned due to rain then the teams will share a point each. There is no scope of a tie match because the rule of super over will be applicable in this tournament. With Sydney Sixers being the winners of the Champions League T20 this year there will be high expectations from them. The other teams would also look to make a name in this tournament as the first two teams will be selected for the ChampionsLeague T20 next year.
