The 25-year tall, elegant right-hand batsman who can keep his cool in a crisis, Lokesh Rahul is among the most highly rated opening batsmen in India’s next generation. In the long format, his technique and application have impressed some of Indian cricket’s most respected names. These include Rahul Dravid, with whom Rahul shares, not just a name but also a strong rapport, regularly seeking him out for technical and mental advice. The young man already has centuries to his name off 17 test matches, with the best score of 199 runs at home against England in December 2016.
The Karnataka player, in a chat with Sportstar opened up on various aspects of his life, and talked about his best mates in the team and much more. KL Rahul made a comeback in all three formats in the recently announced squads. He played the historic Test against Afghanistan and looked in a good form as he went on to score a half-century before getting out. It will be interesting to watch him in the upcoming England tour where India plays T20Is, ODIs and Tests.
